Lion Base by Mallence Bart-Williams

Lion Base

Lion Base, a project founded by Mallence Bart-Williams, helps young men living in the slums of Freetown, South Africa build a better life for themselves. The project teaches artisan crafts such as fabric dyeing and helps them sell their goods to high-profile brands for special-edition collaborations. The proceeds of the sales and collaborations pay for housing and schooling for these same young men.

In 2013, K-MB contributed services and sponsorship to the Lion Base project for the launch of their first book at the Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn, the premiere of their documentary film at the James Hotel in NYC, and the first Miami Art-Basel exhibition in support of the cause.
